If you are believer in Jesus Christ, that is, you are one who is repenting of your sin and who is trusting in Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins and for eternal life, you have hope! You have hope because of who God is!
You have hope because God is wise. “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?”” (Romans 11:33-34, ESV). Because God is all wise, you can believe this promise: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV).
You have hope because God is righteous, 100% holy!. “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5, ESV).
You have hope because God is sovereign. He is in complete control. “He does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”” (Daniel 4:35, ESV).
You have hope because God is loving. “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” (1 John 4:16, ESV).
You have hope because God is unchanging. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17, ESV).
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV).

Are you consumed with memorizing God’s Word? Sometimes I am and sometimes, to my shame, I am not. I constantly need Scriptural exhortation myself regarding this spiritual discipline. Well, help is found here in a recent message by Pastor Andy Davis who urges us to see the importance of filling our minds with God’s Word by Scripture memorization.
And remember–scripture memorization isn’t just for children!
