- Some wonderfully encouraging conversations before and after church worship services
- Safety in working on three different roofing projects this week (no this is not becoming a side job–all over for this year now). One man was injured during our church roofing project, requiring some stitches, but is doing well. Praising God! Thanks to Ben who spent a huge amount of time helping me on my roof even though he was working a crazy schedule himself.
- Beautiful weather as we near the end of summer in Erie
- Friends (Joe and Lauri) who are lending us their van as we take Ian back to college. Another friend (Jerry) who is working on our van while we are away. We are praying that the repairs might take care of the most severe of our van problems. Praise God for Christian brothers and sisters who respond to needs like this.
- The encouragement from John Piper and Wayne Grudem this week to pastors of smaller churches to keep on preaching, teaching, and loving in ways that exalt the gospel
- From last week: hearing of the conversion of a man just days before he passed into eternity. To hear how God used the witness of people in his life for nearly 30 years and to hear the joy of loved ones who had prayed for this man’s salvation for years as well was exhilarating.
