It seems like many things in our nation are turned upside down.  One of the reasons our nation is in trouble is because we are no longer seeking the counsel of Almighty God but are instead depending on our own wisdom and ingenuity.

At the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, Benjamin Franklin said, “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth—that God governs in the affairs of men. I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of heaven and its blessings on our deliberations be held in this Assembly every morning …”

Don’t you think it is about time that we heed Franklin’s call as a nation here.

All the political maneuvering that is going on in our country today makes me long for the true King, Jesus Christ, who will one day turn everything around as it rightly should be when He establishes His glorious rule on this earth!  Even so come, Lord Jesus!

Mercy in troubled days!
