Studying 1 Peter 1 this week I have again seen how the gospel shapes our pursuit of holiness. The famous call “to be holy for I am holy, says the LORD” echoes in 1 Peter 1:16 and the next verse Christians are called to live in godly fear! But then verse 18 gives the motivation for all this: our redemption in Christ. So the gospel not only is what redeems us but the gospel is also what transforms us so that we are not conformed to this world but we pursue holiness.
