So we are coming out of the deep grips of a polar vortex in Erie, PA. Temperatures dipped to several degrees below zero and wind chills dropped to -40 F. I ventured outside a few times but even then with adequate clothing. In a few minutes I could be back into a very comfortable house once again. By the end of the week temps are to rise to near 50. Some of us had to deal with frozen pipes, cars that wouldn’t start or other inconveniences but when I think of what other natural disasters occur around the world and the life-changing impact of such events, a few brutal days of cold and snow remind me that I am not enduring anything compared to what some are going through.
In Erie, we have snow and cold, but if you want things a bit warmer you could always chose to live near a volcano. . .and then you would really have something to worry about. This is what this Big Picture collection reminded me of today. Here’s a sample:
