R. C. Sproul shares his favorite illustration of how callous we have become with respect to the mercy, love, and grace of God. It comes from the second year of his teaching career, when he was given the assignment of teaching two hundred and fifty college freshman an introductory course on the Old Testament.

Our church is memorizing/reviewing the 23rd Psalm over the next few weeks. So many memorable phrases in that passage, especially in the KJV. The same is true, for example, in Luke 2, as it is rendered by the KJV. The beauty of this 400-year old version is rally unrivaled and its phrases have made their way into everyday talk.
